Week 10- Smugglers Notch, Vermont (September 6-12)

Summary: It was a wonderful week in Vermont. We stayed at a two bedroom suite in Smugglers Notch Resort and it was absolutely amazing. I got to play Brewster's Ridge and Fox Run Meadows disc golf courses. There was a lot of hiking and biking as well as some nice chill days. The one day trip was to Burlington with a stop by Ben and Jerry's.  September 6 Had our presentation for our free week. Jeremy was okay, but a tinge condescending and was a little too upset when we turned down his generous $25,000 offer to join the wyndham family.  It was a rainy day and with all the traveling and having such a nice room at smuggler’s notch resort, we decided to have a chill day.  Watched some UFC, football, played some Startdew Valley and just chilled. Sept 7 Woke up and chilled for a bit.  Went on a hike at Bingham Falls. It was a real...

Week 9- Quebec (September 1-5)

Summary: Our first adventure into another country was an interesting time. Stayed at a campground in Drummondville, Quebec and day tripped into Montreal a couple of times. We were not aware of how little English would be spoken and that Discover is not accepted at 99% of locations. But these missteps lead to some fun, and sometimes tense, times.  September 1 Lazy morning. I went frolfing at the local course. It was wet and I did not shoot too well. Nice enough course for the #4 one in Quebec.  No school for the girls on account of labor day. The crowds are already clearing.  Drove into Montreal for La Ronde. Got lost and it took us forever to find the parking lot for the six flags.  Got in and split up. Annie, Grace and I did the brain drain and Katie and mom did a little plane ride. Then the older girls did the demon.  Rode the monster, a neat looking dual track wooden coaster. Did not feel good though and really hurt Grace’s ribs.  Did the goliath ...

Week 8- Maine (August 24-31)

Summary: Had a wonderful week in our tiny cabin up in Ellsworth, Maine.  August 24 Woke up and packed up. Had some sausage at the campsite and then headed to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. These are some really cool gardens. The colors and aesthetics are so good. The troll statues and children’s gardens are really neat.  Drove to Belfast. It was a beautiful drive. Could not get a signal to search for the bike trail or find anything for lunch, so we did McD’s again. Bex and I got Chinese (which was wonderful). Ate at the local park which was beautiful. Could see the Atlantic Ocean from there and went down to the beach for a bit.   Got to Thousand Trails Patten Pond and the cabin is small. This was to be expected, and though they have bigger cabins, we'll make this work.  Went to Walmart for oil change and grocery shop. August 25 It was a rainy day, so instead of going to Acadia, we went to Bangor, ME. The drive up was pretty. We started off at a beautiful bog hike c...
