32- Pigeon Forge, TN (March 8-14)

Summary: The highlight of the week in Pigeon Forge was definitely white water rafting down the Upper Pigeon River. We also enjoyed a daytrip to the Knoxville area, plenty of hikes in the Great Smokies and walking around Pigeon Forge.  March 8 It’s crazy how going on a cruise and then driving can take it out of you like you just ran a half marathon, but I am tired today (and still a little dizzy every once in a while from sea legs). So we take it pretty easy in the morning. We did go swimming and got caught up on laundry. A little after lunch we go for a walk in Pigeon Forge, mostly along the river walk but also along the main drag. Go-karts, gift shops and candy stores galore here in Pigeon Forge. It truly is a tourist mecca.  Our main destination was the island which was a really neat place. They had animatronic dinosaurs, a fountain show, lots of neat shops, rides and more. 31- Cruise (March 2-7)

Summary: We were not sure whether we wanted to go on a cruise, but we figured that we were already here, so we didn't have to worry about transportation and the girls have never cruised, so we took this opportunity to set sail. The entertainment, the food, the fine dining with Hari (our waiter) and getting to see the Celebration Key and Nassau was really fun.  March 2 Cruise Day. We are all packed up and ready to go from our cabin when we get the alert the cruise is delayed by about three hours because of fog (bummer).  We drive to the coast to hit up some gardens and an art museum in Ormond Beach. The paintings were actually really good and I loved that they entailed a description of what it meant. The gardens were small and beautiful. We found some baby turtles that were about the size of a half dollar. They were cute as could be. Then we went to a different little pond and saw about 50 turtles in a tight area.
